TRON Gets a Reboot – AND Jared Leto
It is no secret that production for “TRON 3” (Tron: Ascension) has been caught in a sort of a hurdle. Mr. Joseph Kosinki, director to “TRON: Legacy” admitted in statement that there were troubles surrounding the sequel and had even went far into saying that the project is postponed and is “in cryogenic freeze”.
However, talks around the grapevine had informed that actor, Jared Leto, who had confirmed his participation in “TRON: Ascension” as a character only referred to as Ares, had been in talks of revitalizing the project as a reboot. Leto who also starred in last year’s “Suicide Squad” had taken up other offscreen duties within the hit movie and is reported to have done the same in the upcoming, “Blade Runner 2049”
With this news, it is made apparent that the “Invasion” arc that is set out for “TRON: Ascension” would be seeing a lot of changes, one of concern being Garret Hedlund (Sam Flynn) and Olivia Wilde’s (Quorra) involvement in the reboot.
Before production for the film had been brought to a halt, writer Jesse Wigutow had been commissioned to revise the “TRON: Ascension” screenplay that was initially penned by David DiGilio. On the other hand, we might not see the end of Kosinski’s involvement as Justin Springer, producer to the first “TRON” films would also be at the producing helm of the new movie alongside Jared Leto and Emma Ludbrook.
