Stephen Moyer Joins X-Men TV Series; FOX and Marvel TV Executives Excited for Production
Stephen Moyer who plays Bill Compton a.k.a. Vampire Bill in the hit HBO series, “True Blood” had been cast for the widely-anticipated Marvel X-Men pilot for FOX. While the series is yet to be given a title, the main storyline had been disclosed as being about a couple who finds themselves shocked with the discovery that their children are mutants. The story gets interesting as the family is compelled to run from the government and makes ties with an underground network of mutants in their struggle to gain their lives back.
Penned by Matt Nix, the series would see Moyer as a character named Reed who is described as an ambitious lawyer juggling his job at the DA’s office and his duties to his family.
Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television, the project had espoused great enthusiasm among its executives. Fox Entertainment president, David Madden had been quoted as saying, “With the brilliant production crew behind this project, it has all the makings of a big, fun and exciting new series.”
Jonathan Davis, President of Creative Affairs for 20th Century Fox Television, had stated in an interview that developing a television series for FOX alongside Marvel had always been a dream for the head of development. And saying that is only compounded by the powerhouse team of creatives and Executive Producers namely, Bryan Singer (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past), Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Wolverine), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”) and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”)
It seems that the expansion of the X-Men universe, despite its separation from the more commercially popular Avengers franchise, isn’t about to slow down anytime soon. Fans across all ages are at the edge of their seats for further developments in the future.
