Frank Miller’s “Sin City” Gets A Series; A Departure From The Films
Frank Miller’s noir comic book series is getting a series treatment.
According to reports, the “Sin City” series would be a reboot of the 2005 Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba-starrer and apparently its 2014 sequel, “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For”. In a statement, the Weinstein Company and Dimension had claimed that the new series would be a departure from the films.
Glenn Mazarra whose CV includes being a showrunner to “The Walking Dead”, “The Shield”, and “The Omen” would be writing the script. Taking the director’s seat is Len Wiseman, who is known for directing episodes of “Hawaii Five-O” and “Lucifer”.
The original comic book series, “Sin City” began its run in 1991 which stretched well into the year 2000. The series was released under Dark Horse Presents and went on to receive seven Eisner Awards during its run.
The release date and the home network for the “Sin City” series are yet to be announced.
