Simple Does It: Battle.net App Renamed to Blizzard App
It’s official. The name, Battle.net has been phased-out.
Two decades has passed since the name had been used by Blizzard for its launcher app. And now that an update had been announced, the gaming titan had resolved that a change in its monicker is due.
Blizzard’s Steam-style launcher app for its PC games would now simply be called, Blizzard App.
However, as far as an update is concerned, nothing had really changed with the app’s functionality and design. It had been done in light of the company’s new services and branding.
In a reported statement, Blizzard executives disclosed that a distinct name is integral to the company’s aim of giving quality, tailored online-gaming service and how it explains its service and functioned.
As the years passed by, occasional confusion had been attributed to the name. The company recognizes that the concept of built-in multiplayer support is already widely understood by its community. As such, maintaining a different name for Blizzard’s networking technology had been seen as completely unnecessary. The name had to go.
Blizzard app. Well, it’s about time for a change!
