After the mess that was Warner Bros’ flashy and at times over-the-top curious “Suicide Squad”, DC had resolved that the best way to redeem their mistakes is to release a sequel.

Yes, “Sucide Squad 2” is apparently happening. And while little is known of the story, let alone the actors who might be returning to reprise their villanous roles, news from the vine has it that Director Jaume Collet-Serra might be at the project’s helm.

Collet-Serra, who is a Warner Bros local talent, is not a virgin to strange projects. In his artillery, he has the likes of “House of Wax”, “Orphan” and that sharp , Blake Lively-led thriller, “Shallows”.

Alongside other candidates such as Ruben Fleischer, Daniel Espinosa and Jonathan Levine , Jaume Collet-Serra is one whom is considered to be a wonder in a small budget winking at the success “Shallows” had raked in.

It had also been reported that Warner Bros had already approached Mel Gibson to direct the second installment to the DC franchise. Interesting to note though, Gibson had been quite adamant in expressing his distaste for superheroes movies, saying, in a statement that, “Real superheroes don’t wear spandex.”

While this is the case, Warner Bros. is reported to have stated that they would still give the directorial chair to Gibson should he want it.

David Ayer who had directed the first “Suicide Squad” had received negative remarks regarding his production to which he responded that he would have made the Joker the main villain of the movie.

As candidates are lining up for the role of director for the upcoming flick, Ayer is reported to have already been signed up for a Harley Quinn/Gotham City Sirens movie.
