Purge 4, A Prequel? Director James DeMonaco Writes The Script
Though James DeMonaco would not be returning to command the reins on directing, “Purge 4” is happening. DeMonaco, however, would still be writing its script with a new, yet-to-be-named director stepping in.
The “Purge” franchise had kicked off with “The Purge” in 2013 and had since accumulated $320 Million; not bad as each of the 3 films had only been reported with a $10 Million budget or less.
Following an America set in a fictional universe, “The Purge” tells the story of how the country had succumbed to an annual event lasting for 12 hours where all crime is rendered legal.
Interestingly, the fourth installment is poised as a prequel as DeMonaco had declared in an interview last year. He expressed that he wanted to explore how this version of America had come to be.
