Paramount Pictures Sinks Its Teeth Into “Dracula” Prequel

The first prequel to Dracula had finally found a home in Paramount Pictures. Duly approved by the estate of Dracula author, Bram Stoker, Dracul sees the reunion of now IT director, Andy Muschietti and producers Barbara Muschietti and Roy Lee.
The film follows a 21-year old Bram Stoker who encounters an evil whom he traps in a tower as he was jotting down all events that led to it. Penned by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker, Dracul is set in 1868.
A classic and a canon among various reiterations of his universe, Dracula was written in 1897 by writer Bram Stoker. Among the notable interpretations of the character include, 1958’s Dracula which starred Christopher Lee, 1992’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula starring Gary Oldman, Keanu Reeves and Anthony Hopkins, and 2014’s Dracula Untold which saw Luke Evans in the titular role.
The final details to production and the release date for the movie, Dracul is yet to be disclosed.
