According to sources, the movie would be a ten-year jump from last year’s “X-Men: Apocalypse”. As with 1980’s comicbook series, “The Dark Phoenix Saga”, “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” would follow the mutant telepath, Jean Grey as she succumbs to the powers of the Dark Phoenix, an alien force potent enough to bring the universe into shambles.
For the project, X-Men series veteran writer, Simon Kinberg returns at the writing helm. The movie would also see the return of Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler)
It has been confirmed that Jessica Chastain will be playing Lilandra, Empress to the Shi’ar Empire hell-bent on destroying the Phoenix Force.
Set to be released on November 2nd 2018, “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” culminates 2018’s X-Universe offerings which kicks off with “New Mutants” on April 13th 2018 followed by “Deadpool 2” on June 1st 2018.
