The Last of Us Part II Trailer Conjures Grim and Anticipation
Set years after the original game narrative, “Last of Us Part II” sees a 19 year old Ellie in the same, post-apocalyptic world ravaged by the Cordyceps fungus.
Naughty Dog brings in the grit and grim with its official game trailer showing Ellie plays a guitar in the middle of a bloodbath of characters we are yet to find out. Upon the appearance of a seemingly unnamed ally, Ellie stops playing to declare that she is
“. . .going to kill every last of them”
Of course we are stoked about it. The trailer had poked us in places that we would feel both excited and uncomfortable about the first game’s turnout.
Because fans are always apprehensive about sequels, Neil Druckmann, creative director and programmer for Naughty Dog assured fans that there is nothing to worry about the game’s latest installment. Asking for the fans’ faith, Druckmann had claimed to have played with a great deal of ideas to get the feel and the story right, especially that the game story had ended in such a noteworthy and satisfying conclusion.
