Gears of War Adapatation In The Works; Universal Pictures Enlists “Armageddon” Writer For Script
Shane Salerno, writer to 1998’s cult classic, “Armageddon” and the 2012 crime-thriller, “Savages”, had been commissioned to pen Universal Pictures’ attempt at a “Gears of War” adaptation.
Released back in 2006, “Gears of War” is a video game franchise that follows one Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments which set out to obliterate the Locust Horde to save all human life in planet Sera. The game lets you play as a Delta Squad member.
The film project had been made publicly known back in October last year prior to the Xbox release of “Gears of War 4”. Studio head to “The Coalition”, Rod Fergusson had stated in an interview that the story would be wholly different to the game’s current narrative.
To date, greater details surrounding the project are yet to be disclosed. But while fans can only guess, hardcore players of the game franchise already know that the franchise had been revitalized with the release of “Gears of War 4”.
Said to go back to the original game’s darker tone, “Gears of War 4” brings to the spotlight new heroes who would go against a new antagonist.
