Director Shane Black Shares “The Predator” Cast Photo; Says He’ll Do “Right” With The Mythology’s “Expansion”
Revitalized for a new generation, Fox is coming out with a reboot to the 1987 cult classic, “Predator”.
While no details regarding the movie’s storyline, let alone the character design for the creature, had been made public yet, actor-turned director, Shane Black shared a snap of the partial cast over at Twitter. The director, who had starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers in the original film is also lending his writing talent with Fred Dekker to the reimagining of the extra-terrestrial.
As shown in the Twitter photo below, the new “The Predator” cast brings together actors Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Not in the picture however is recent addition, Alfie Allen of “Game of Thrones” fame. Allen who had played Theon Greyjoy (yeah THAT guy) is said to be assuming the role of a former Marine in the film.
Though he has nothing but praise for the original movie, in an interview in 2016, Black had been reported saying that “The Predator” would be of a “larger scale” compared to the previous movies within the franchise. The director deems that an “expansion” in the movie universe in terms of the creature’s mythology is necessary and, winking at his work on “Iron Man 3” had said, “Let’s do it right this time”.
“The Predator” is set to be released on March 2nd, 2018.
