Bleach Gets Live Action Treatment; Announcement Comes With 20-Second Teaser

Why it didn’t happen sooner, we don’t know.
However, it seems like they have been working on a live action “Bleach” for quite some time now.
The onset photos reveal just that. Although “Bleach” progenitor, Tite Kubo expressed apprehension with Ichigo’s hair as worn by actor Sota Fukushi.

The original series ran for 366 episodes and was produced by Studio Pierrot under the direction of Noriyuki Abe.
Both the manga and the anime follows one Ichigo Kurosaki after he gets possession of the Soul Reaper’s powers.
Bleach is set to be released in Summer 2018.
