Ben Affleck To Be Ushered Out of the DCEU?
The rumor mill is at it again. And caught in its dark employ is Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne.
Not long ago, Affleck, who had been an instant Batman-favorite among critics and fans alike, dropped out of the directorial chair for the standalone DCEU movie “The Batman”. This is further complicated by news that the script he had co-written with DC Entertainment frontman, Geoff Johns had been disregarded.
Now comes another report from sources that seems to douse the dying fire with gasoline. Sources say that DC might be trying to usher out Ben Affleck’s Batman out of the franchise. How they are going to that, along with the validity of the news sees no clarity.
However, upon consideration of Batffleck’s actual age and his penchant to stay away from limiting roles, the news seems to find some sort of grounding. Ben Affleck is still mum regarding the whole issue although we may find markers of curiosity in the grapevine. Also reported not so long ago is his bowing-out of Netflix’s “Triple Frontier”.
So if proven true, what could DC pull off to make the exit, indeed graceful? The answer could lie in the multiple Batmen in the source material itself. For that, they may resort to various iterations of the character such as Terry McGinnis, Dick Grayson, or even, if DC would be bold, Commissioner Gordon.
How about you, what do you think of this Batffleck rumor?
