Alicia Vikander Wows As Lara Croft In New Tomb Raider Movie Set Photos
Back in 1996, British game company Core Design brought us “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” a game that focuses on the titular heroine as she travels around the world in search for lost artifacts while venturing into various dangerous tombs and ruins. Lara Croft quickly became a sought after women empowerment icon that saw the spawn of two movies: “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (2001) and “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life” (2003), in which Angelina Jolie was praised for her performance as Lara Croft, amplifying her popularity further.
Now, the Lara Croft persona would be taken on by Swedish actress, Alicia Vikander. Video game fans got all excited with her undeniable likeness to the 2013 incarnation of the heroine in Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix’s “Rise Of The Tomb Raider”. This week, we were teased with set photos of how the actress has embodied Lara Croft and boy was it a treat!
Scheduled to hit theatres in March 16th 2018, “Tomb Raider” stars Alicia Vikander, Dominic West, Daniel Wu, and Walton Goggins and is directed by Roar Uthaug.
